Setup and preparation

Setup

  1. Check that the hand shaking prevention kit is properly attached to the base.
  2. With the observation surface of the main unit facing downward, insert the main unit into the base from above.
  3. With the logo on the main unit facing the front, line up the red mark with the front of the base.
  4. After inserting the main unit, gently turn the main unit locking knob on the base to lock the main unit in place.
  5. Turn the magnification adjustment ring and line up the “130x” mark with the positioning mark on the base.

Preparations for observations (direction of application of oil for fingertip observation)

  1. Apply oil every time you make an observation. Apply oil to the finger.
  2. Apply oil to the lower part of the lower edge of the nail (the cuticle).
  • * Use the ring finger on the hand opposite the dominant hand for observations. (If the blood flow is hard to see with the ring finger, try the middle finger first, then the little finger.)
  • About one drop of oil is enough for one observation. (If the blood vessels are hard to see, apply oil again.)

Observing fingertip capillaries

  1. Set the software to the fingerprint blood flow mode.
  2. Turn the focus adjustment dial (the round dial on the back of the base) to the highest point.
  3. Set the magnification to 130x.
  4. Apply the fingertip observation oil to the ring finger of the hand opposite the dominant hand (the best finger for observations) in a horizontal line over the nail and the bottom of the cuticle.
  5. Place the TOKU Capillaro on a table that is approximately the height of a desk in front of the oiled finger placed diagonally at 45 degrees, then position the oiled finger so that the area to be observed (the bottom of the cuticle) is near the black line on the finger rest.
  6. Relax the palm of the hand. (If not, the hand may shake, making it difficult for the blood flow to change.)
  7. Turn the focus adjustment dial (the round dial on the back of the base) little by little and lower until the finger is in focus.
  8. Move the base’s spot adjustment plate (the plate that moves front to back and right to left), observe the overall image, and look for an easily visible blood vessel (one that is as long and narrow as possible, with no effete matter in the background).
  9. Position the target blood vessel at the center of the screen and set the magnification to 510x.
  10. Fine-adjust using the focus adjustment dial (the round dial on the back of the base).
  • * If the image is hard to see, set the magnification to 130x and repeat from step 6.
  • * If the finger rest gets dirty, wipe it clean with a tissue, etc.

Observing blood flow in the skin and on the scalp

  1. Set the software to the skin and scalp blood flow mode.
  2. Loosen the main unit locking knob on the base and remove the main unit from the base.
  3. Mount the attachment to the tip of the main unit. (Press it all the way in.)
  4. Set the magnification to 130x.
  5. After wiping the attachment clean with a tissue, etc., line up the capillary observation sheet with the position at which the tip of the attachment is in the center, then mount using the designated rubber piece so that the sheet at the tip is taut.
  6. Apply skin oil or scalp oil to the area to be observed and lightly place tip of the attachment against the area.
Hold the main unit so that the word “Capillaro” is fully visible to you, place it against the area to be observed, then gradually turn to increase the magnification.
  1. ?
  • * The magnification where the image first came into focus is 140x, and the magnification where the image came into focus when turned up from there is 460x.

Observing skin texture and scalp dirt

  1. Set the software to the epidermis and natural color mode.
  2. Loosen the main unit locking knob on the base and remove the main unit from the base.
  3. Mount the attachment to the tip of the main unit. (Press it all the way in.)
  4. Set the magnification to 130x.
  5. Hold the main unit so that the word “Capillaro” is fully visible to you, then place it against the area to be observed. Increase the magnification little by little.
  • * The magnification where the image first came into focus is 140x, and the magnification where the image came into focus when turned up from there is 460x.
